Driveway slabs drop at the garage or the street, leaving ridges that catch tires and collect water.
A sunken sidewalk panel creates a trip hazard, and in Salt Lake City the adjacent owner is responsible for keeping it in good shape.
Concrete steps that settle tilt away from the house or open a gap at the foundation.
Sunken slabs hold water and tip it back toward the house.
Real Foamjection lifts on the kinds of slabs we fix for Salt Lake City homeowners. Small holes, no tear-out.

Foamjection is powered by HMI, which provides the equipment, training and systems behind every lift. Here’s what you can expect when you call us about your Salt Lake City concrete:

Drill Small HolesOur crew drills small 5/8″ holes in key areas of the slab.
Inject High-Density Polyurethane FoamThis is the core of polyurethane concrete lifting — the foam expands beneath the slab, fills voids, stabilizes loose soils, and delivers a controlled slab lifting process.
Patch & Use the Same DayOnce the slab reaches the correct height, holes are patched and the area is often ready to use within hours.
Tell us what’s sinking and where. A local pro will follow up with a free, no-pressure estimate.
Salt Lake City is built on layered silt, sand and clay left behind by ancient Lake Bonneville. In places like Sugar House, groundwater sits just a few feet below the surface, and the Utah Geological Survey has photographed ground that settled under a downtown sidewalk.
Soft, layered lake sediments can compact over time, especially where water from sprinklers, downspouts or a high water table keeps them wet. When the soil under a slab settles, the concrete loses support and drops. Foam fills the empty space and firms up the soil beneath it.

Every service below uses the same foam lifting process, sized to the slab. Not sure which one you need? Describe the problem on the estimate form and a local pro will help you figure it out.
The adjacent property owner is responsible for keeping the sidewalk in good shape. Single-family homeowners may qualify for a cost-share that splits repairs with the City, and owners who hire their own contractor need a permit. See the Salt Lake City sidewalk program page. If a panel is intact and just sunken, ask us whether lifting is an option.
It can. Soft silt and clay can compact when it stays wet. Foam fills the empty space under a settled slab and helps stabilize the soil.

Keep water off the soil at slab edges. Aim sprinklers away from concrete and extend downspouts so roof water drains away from the house.
